RouGoin' nowhere but Home

At least... That's what it looks like, for now. I'm in my very, very last week, and no company has called me. Not even the one in Barcelona. Therefor, the only place I'll be going, is home. This coming weekend that is. Will book my ticket either tomorrow or Thursday.

Am feeling pretty sad right now and all the optimism I had while writing my previous post has sunk down to my shoes. The good thing is that I already arranged an interview in NL @ a marketing-event company in Amsterdam. So.... at least I have something to look forward to.

So, for the very last time, I'll be packing my stuff and this time it's for real. Am going to miss Pamplona. I've had a great and valuable time.

I might go back for vacation, well.. a long weekend and maybe even San Fermines. Life goes on, will just have to get myself up my feet, up to the next challenge: adapting to my ever so boring life in NL.

RouGoin' Barcelona (?)

.

Hi everyone, here's another short one to go.

Internship hunting here in Pamplona really, really es una M**RDA! Any foreign students who have succeeded in encountering an internship in Marketing/Communication in this too-small-a-town.. How on earth were you able to do it?

Therefore, am forced to head out to the bigger cities in Spain. Am focussing on Bilbao, Madrid and... Barcelona. It does not exactly have my preference, but since a Dutch Internship Agency named 'Barcelona Stage Bureau' is located here, the chances of them arranging something for me in the next two weeks are big. However, nothing in life is free, and so not surprisingly, the agency is asking for quite an amount of cash for their task as intermediary. Sheesh. Ohw well, I suppose I just have to make some sacrifices if I want to stay here in Spain.

Of course there are advantages of me going... I mean, come on, it's Barcelona we're talking about here! One of the top 10 cities in the world. Will be able to enjoy real city life, but also sun, sea and beach :) Some serious tanning this summer, WOOHOO!

And then, on the other hand, there's the higher costs I'm looking at, having to move out (it's amazing how much stuff you collect in 6 months), living 500 kilometers away from my BF. That's probably going to be the worst of it all.

But, one thing I have learned these past few months is that sometimes you just have to take life as it comes your way. Everything will be OK in the end, as long as you are pacient and you have the willingness to see that everything's gonna be alright. So, it doesn't really matter. Madrid, Barcelona, Pamplona, I'll go wherever I am to go. Life's like a box of chocolate; you never know what you're gonna get.

(Ro)Update

Hola, a todos, here's a quicky since I still have to continue the internship-thing online.

After the whole not-going-to-Valencia-scene I figured I would go to Madrid to pick up my sweety. And so, I did :) Sunday I dragged myself through the snow all the way to the centre of Pamplona to get a busticket for the next morning at 7 AM. In the eve my BF's bro gave me a ring to ask me if I was going, so he could call his couz in Madrid to ask him if I could stay over. Ahw, they're just such sweeties.. They were all so more than willing to set up the WB-surprise for Sorin, though his bro was kind of scared I would get lost out there, since "It is a whole lot bigger than Pamplona, you know".

So, Monday morning I packed my things and practically iceskated to the busstation. Five hours later I finally arrived. I got myself a map of the city and a Metro ticket (10 trips worth) and the adventure was to really begin! I got out at Argüelles, stepped into "El Corte Inglés" for the first time ever and hopped into Zara, Mango, Stradivarius, some souvenirstores and other lil' shops. Walked all the way to 'Palacio Real', loads of famous gardens, cathedrals and plazas. I had a ball :) In the afternoon Tibi, my BF's couz, picked me up at "Puerta del Sol" and we went to his place where the whole family welcomed me as though I was their own cousin.

The next day... I had butterflies racing through my tummy, I couldn't wait to finally see him. We went to the airport where I hid myself behind a car, waiting for Sorin to load his suitcases... and well, I think you can imagine the rest. Operation: 'SS' was a success, people.
