¡M**rda!
Well, let me tell you something about my Valencia adventure!
Tuesdaynight, my cool roommy and I were up until 3 AM, just chatting and hangin' about while watching (utterly boring) Spanish television. Me all excited about going to Valencia, already packed my bag and everything and thought I should catch some sleep, so set the alarm at 4 AM and went to bed.
At 4.30 I woke up, did my thing in the bathroom, grabbed all my stuff and went out to the corner of Calle Iturrama/Fuente el Hierro where the bus was going to pick us up at 5.50 AM. Was there at 5.30 already (don't think I have ever been way too early for anything during my stay here in SP, but didn't want to miss out on the bus:), waited and waited, but no girls from the Uni with whom I was going, no freaking bus, GrrRRR! Finally, a touringbus stopped at the corner, oldies only, destination Valencia. I got in the bus and a mixed smell of 'Old Spice' and sweaty arm-pits gave me a warm welcome. Only saw one girl my age who was sitting all the way in the back, also turned out to be an exchange student, from France.
I sat myself down, made myself all comfy, getting all into the travel-mood. We drove through the streets of Pamplona, picking up people at busstops along the way. At a certain point we stopped, and the driver was going to make a call to the agency to check if people who were on the list, but not on the bus, had canceled. At a certain point we drove back into Calle Iturrama, I thought to check if there were more people who needed to be picked up, but NO! Folk were getting off the bus because we needed at least 30 peepz and we had only 21. Sheesh!
So, peepz, no Valencia after all... :( As compensation I might go to Madrid next Sunday to pick up my BF who is coming back from Rumania next Tuesday. Wanna give him a grand surprise :) Maybe even more fun... Valencia will just have to wait.

RouTravelling
Por fin, I'm going to travel a bit through Spain, it was about time. This was what I imagened myself doing during the weekends here in España, but, well, I haven't gotten any further than the French border. So, finally I'm going out to explore a bit more of Southern Europe!
I'm going alone (well, two other girls of the University are going as well, but don't know them) by bus which is leaving tomorrowmorning at around 6. There was a special offer by this agency that comes up with these short excursions, and so, since my BF is still out of town, I thought I might as well go and enjoy myself :). We'll be covering quite a distance: +/- 670 from Pamplona to Valencia, so I suppose we will arrive somewhere in the afternoon. Yaay ! I'm really looking forward to it.
Valencia, here I come!

Mr Bigote @ UNAV
Isn't he handsome?! :P (HooHAhaHA!)
In Spain Mr Aznar also goes by 'El Bigote'; 'The mustache' in English. But what's so curious about his hairy upperlip that Spaniards call him this way? Well, let me open Pandora's Box for ya...
Mr Aznar has a dark secret, which is not much of a secret anymore here in Spain, obviously, but of which he thinks he can still keep unrevealed to the rest of the world. HuHAhaHA, EvilRou is gonna break it to all of them RouBloggers out there :\/, he he he. Folk: He is maintaining this fur to cover up the non-movement of his upperlip. Now, that's a discovery.
Poor thing :|. Don't worry Mr A., we'll just consider it to be your charm, ¿vale?

First (actually 2nd) Internship-offer!
Well guys, finally, after all those application letters I sent out and after all those calls I made to those empresas, I finally got two reactions ! Both of 'em I got today.
"Joy, joy!", I thought when I passed our mailbox in the hallway. Woohoo, mail! How joyous. Why such happiness? Well, first of all because we hardly ever get any, not me, nor my 2 roommies, and second because.. well, I figured it must've been from one of them businesses, so at least one of the companies had the decency to let me know if I'm in or out.
So, I opened our mailbox, and there went the glorious moment; it was a simple RTS (return to sender). Gosh.
"Ohw well, there's still hope!", I thought, so went down to the Internetcafe to check my email. Cool ! An email of a hotel (figured it would be smart to combine my Tourism edu with my current Marketing Communication studies). And, yes people, they want meeeee ! I can start in March, even already offering me a contract for this period. Yaay, yaay, yaay! But, no way yaay... cause mr manager wrote later on that they do not have a Marketing dept; they want me as a receptionist !
Sheesh, how rude.

Internship-Hunting
By: ms Rejection herself
This week I've been calling practically all 'Agencias de Publicidad' here in Pamplona, other major companies and even hotels to check out if I can do my trainee period in their empresa. Unfortunately, no one wants me! I'm such a reject... Most of the companies here in Pamplona consider interns to be a simple waist of time. Sheesh, how rude! Only four or five businesses treated me kindly over the phone, at least giving me the opportunity to do my story and sending me through to someone of the Human Resources Department.
Last week my Internship Coordinator sent me an email, telling me that I have the chance to do my Internship in an international company, yet I would have to move to Barcelona where it is situated. Hmm... It sounds like a real challenge and I would grab it with both hands if I not had my novio here in Pamplona. He's on holiday right now and we miss eachother like hell. It would be so selfish of me to go for it, but on the other hand, I did come to Spain for my education.. and so.. all other things should come second? Sheesh, I could just slap myself for even thinking that.
Going to Barcelona would mean a boost for my carreer, yet it would also mean making life even more difficult than it already is for the one person I care about most and who has made my life so much brighter. So... seriously, I don't know what to do... Aaaarghh !!

UNAV-life
Hmm.. I have been blogging for quite some time now, however, I just realized that I haven't really been Roublogging about Pamplona itself or the Universidad de Navarra of which I have been a happy student (more or less) for the past 5,5 months. Since I am specializing in Marketing Communication back in NL, I had the privilege to hang in and around the Facultad de Comunicación. Well, let me start with showing you some picks of life at UNAV along the way...
Classes have been just what they have been. Sometimes interesting, other times too time-consuming, you all know the drill. Only one or two classes I really liked; Nuevos Medios Publicitarios which was interesting & taught by a cool profesora, and Diseño Audiovisual where I took my first babysteps towards Blogging. All the other courses were just for the credits, really. One tip for foreign students coming over here: Do not choose Empresa Informativa! Trust me, you have better things to do with your time. If you are really interested into the Spanish Market/Businesses, pués, go ahead. But do take in mind that it means serious studying. Just go read a book on the subject and do some selfstudy; you'll be better off this way.Well.. what more can I say, I have had a great 5,5 months, yet I have not learned all that much as I wanted to. Learned probably more than I think, though. What I certainly have learned is how to make speaking Spanish feel as normal as brushing your teeth in the morning, how NOT to keep food in your fridge that has already passed 3 weeks of its expiry date and that maybe it could be useful to start studying previous to the actual beginning of the exam period. There, there. Now, that is not nothing people :) Sheesh, too obvious non-existing academic improvement here :( The timetable took me quite some time adjusting to, since they have morning classes AND evening classes. Qué horror that was in the beginning. As time passes you'll get used to it, obviously. Just like having Siesta will become a non-activity of your day you do not want to miss out on.Actually feel kinda sad to know that next week I will be seen as an intrudor on campus, since today I had my last exam and therefore my last official UNAV-activity. Pff, so what! I'm just gonna keep on coming back, gotta have some place to go blogging freely, right?
Bloggin' out 4 now, folk.

Ode to my Girlz
Am remembering the good old days. Our trip to Brussels, our long talks in the cafeteria of the HvU about all kinds of subjects; from epilating habits to the hunger for chocolate, all those times Sabrina had to kick our butts into getting into those nasty projects. Really miss you girls, am looking forward to next september when we're all back in NL!
Go strong Sweeties, go kick some of that Business-folk-onion !

¡Sobresaliente!
Hooray, Hoorah! Just checked out my grades and I majorly scored: Sobresaliente, WOOHOO! Ok, ok, so it was for English and not some heavy duty course like Empresa Informativa or Comunicación Internacional. So what? At least I did something good out here. And, at least I got my first 4,5 credits... out of 34, that is, pero bueno. Just let me enjoy the moment, will ya? Sheesh...

Sobreviviendo...
Hey you all out there. Well, had the first two exams, unfortunately 3 more to go and I am going to have them all next week! UGH, couldn´t be any worse.
It's so strange, the past half year just flew by. Next week a lot of students who were participating in the Erasmus-programme will be heading home, including 'The bad bad part of Holland' as she would refer to herself sometimes, yup, talking ' bout the one and only Nickster. It feels like everyone's leaving me.... Nick's goin', my roomie (a.k.a. nuestra favorita Mejicana) moved out this week and my BF is going back to Rumania for at least one month... Leaving me very RouLonely out here in Pamplona.
Well, not like I don't have enough things to do, since the Internship-hunt has started. Have set up my CV and will have my friend Juanito correct it. Next step is to send 'em all out and go have some interviews. Can't wait.
I would be so glad if I'd be able to stick around town a little more longer. Am looking forward to all the mornings when I have overslept and run out into the street with a cracker in my mouth and a Marge Simpson-hairdo, going all: "No Freaking Way, MOUNTAINS?! Ohw, yeah, I'm in Spain.. :D".
Holland will be there in another 6 months, right? In the mean time, I'm going to enjoy myself out here. Well, exams first, then the fun can really start.
Gimme some lucky fin peepz, am gonna need it.... Coz I don't wanna end up like Nemo!
